our origins
We sometimes have to look into the past to find the path to our future.
Our app finds its roots in an ancestral tradition that has contributed to the power of the great Dogons.
Listed as Unesco World heritage, Dogons managed to combine creativity and social harmony. They innovated in many different fields such as astronomy or steel and remain today a model of integration and group cohesion.


Dogons’ toguna
Every week, the whole tribe gathers under the toguna hut. Designed with a very low roof, everyone entering the hut has to bend into a humble stature and cannot outrageously interfere without knocking its head into the roof. Its straw roof lies on 8 carved wooden pillars, each of those representing the tribe’s core values.
The village chief gives voice to all the questions within the group. We can hear ideas within the crowd, some people speaking hidden behing a mask. Free from judgemental feedbacks, minds are opening up, everyone is taking part into the group decisions.
Thanks to a simple vote, anyone is invited to take side on the best solutions to help the tribe grow. This democratic vote leads naturally to a vast adoption of changes. The power of the majority frees the tribe from all reluctances.

At PUM Plastiques, division Saint-Gobain, toguna allowed mobilized collective intelligence by avoiding complex and time-consuming co-construction processes. After only 2 months, the app generated 97% participation rate. A great saving of time, energy and money!
